What Is It Worth? – Southwest Textiles Appraisal & A Brief History of Navajo Weaving
What Is It Worth? 12pm-3pm
A Brief History of 3pm-4:30pm Navajo Weaving
Do you have a Navajo rug or other Southwest textile hanging around the house? Ever wonder what it was, where it came from, or how much it may be worth? Well, stop by the Farmington Museum for an ‘Antiques Roadshow’-type event. Mark Winter, owner of the Toadlena Trading Post, will be present to unofficially appraise any Southwest textiles you have! There is a fee of $5 and a limit of two items per person.
Directly following the event, Mark Winter will present a brief history of Navajo weaving in honor of the museum’s exhibit Diyogi: A Collection of Early Navajo Wearing Blankets, c. 1870-1900.
This presentation is FREE to the public. Call (505) 599-1174 to register or for more information, or visit www.farmingtonmuseum.org.
