Summer Saturday Programs at the Hubbard Museum

All Summer Saturday Programs* begin at 11:30am in the Cope Learning Center and are included with Museum admission.

April 15: Navajo Weaving with Lynn Tanner

  • Lynn Tanner, of Ruidoso's Tanner Traditions, presents a lesson on the origins, art, and techniques of Navajo weaving.
May 13: The Wyeth-Hurds
  • The museum's own Brittany Porter discusses the life of the famous art family and her experience working to get the family home and studios on the historic registers.
June 10: O'Keeffe: Close Up and Far Away
  • Experience a first-person look at the life of another famous New Mexico resident artist, Georgia O'Keeffe.
July 15: Frontier Weapons
  • John Ellert, Hubbard Museum docent, takes us on a journey to explore the craft and engineering of the weapons used on the American Frontier.
August 12: "1912: A Musical Snapshot of America in the Year New Mexico Became a State"
  • Music tells the story of a time and place. Hear the musical stories of America the year New Mexico became a state.
September 9: "Sopranos and Six-Shooters: Great Ladies of the Old Western Theatre"
  • Experience traveling theatre of the Old West.
