2023 NMAM Annual Conference

November 2-3, 2023

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Arts and culture play a significant role in shaping New Mexico’s character and contributing to the success of the state economy. The diverse and unique collection of state, county, municipal, and private museums in the state are a cornerstone of this success.  This year the New Mexico state legislature established a Division of Creative Industries within the State Economic Development Department to support the growth of economic opportunity among creative industries outside of film. As museums big and small look to the future and plan for long-range success, expanding our institutions’ roles as community anchors and economic drivers will be critical for continued and amplified relevance. We can and must consider how we support, drive, sustain, and nourish the creative economy within and beyond our walls. At this year’s New Mexico Association of Museums Annual Conference, discover ways of working within our communities to deliver positive social and economic impact.
